Curriculum
Objective
The Christian Weekday Program is consistent with the best principles and purposes of early childhood education and the objectives of Christian education reflective of the sponsoring Springfield UMC: to help children grown in their understanding of the love of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. The program provides an atmosphere of love, acceptance and varied experiences in which children of diverse backgrounds learn to play and work with others and grow as persons under the guidance of teachers. The objective of the curriculum is to structure the classroom and support activities so as to engage the children as active learners as they acquire basic skills, learn responsible behavior, develop effective social relationships, and improve basic forms of communication – oral & expressive language, listening and emergent literacy skills. Christian values underscore all the experiences through which the child learns.
